Creativity and the ministry

This month’s declaration that God has given the church is : ‘God called me, blessed me and multiplied me’. I have understood that the first thing that God demands from us to be able to bless and multiply us is that we accept our calling and take on the responsibility he has given us. This is what I did. I accepted my calling to get involved in the youth ministry, together with a team of people who have decided to give everything. To be honest, it is a big responsibility but there is great joy in my heart because I can see that God is behind our work.
We started the new season of Youth Meetings 2010 on 24 April. Together with the production team we decided that each meeting would show excellence and creativity. The first thing we did was to create an expectation amongst the youth of our church about this new season. Then we set our first goal, and started working hard to make each meeting very creative. This new season has demanded a lot more from all of us.

This new season has demanded a lot more from all of us.

Every Monday we sit down with the team and begin to plan out the next youth meeting minute by minute. In just four Saturdays where we have done this, we have seen great results. We have grown from three thousand young people to more than seven thousand, and our meetings have gone from strength to strength. What I’ve seen is that if people come and see excellence and receive something that impacts their lives, they will not only come back, but they will also bring others.
We did not do any publicity or outside evangelism ; our only strategy was to seek creativity in each meeting. It is time to accept our calling and believe that God will support our efforts and commitment.
