The Lord clothes me with power

The declaration for the month of August is: By your grace we are saved, set free, and clothed in power. Isaiah 51:9-10.
This month's declaration has to do with the infinite grace of God which is for each one of his children. The prophet Isaiah recalls the powerful works of God and emphasises what the Lord did with the life of a prostitute named Rahab. We cannot say that she was a good prostitute ; just like we cannot say that one of the two thieves who hung either side of Jesus on the cross was good and the other bad. Both were equally guilty. Both had been judged and found guilty and sentenced to death. One insulted Jesus, but the other begged for mercy. That is why he found grace in Jesus' sight and the Lord promised him that that very day he would be with him in paradise (Luke 23:39-43). Rahab was aware that God had handed over all of that land to the people of Israel, and she recognised that the God of the Jews is God in both the heavens and the earth. She asked for mercy for herself and for her family (Joshua 2:11-14).
We can declare: 'By his grace I am saved, free and clothed with power'.
