The first G12 Africa conference began with a colourful and noisy celebration complete with World Cup vuvuzelas, drum lines, swaying choirs, enthusiastic dancing and high octane praise and worship.

And it ended with over 2000 delegates focused on bringing hope to Africa through adopting the exponential model of Jesus in making and multiplying disciples.

Delegates came from over 14 countries including Botswana, Congo, Ghana, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The conference, held from September 23-25, was hosted by Pastors Bert and Charne Pretorius  and 3C Ministries in Pretoria close to where Nelson Mandela was inaugurated as South Africa’s first non-apartheid President.

Pastor Bert, who is also the G12 Co-ordinator for Africa, said: ‘the conference was a great success and hundreds of people came to Christ at an outreach event during the conference’. ‘Many people were inspired by the potential of the G12 Vision to bring about the salvation of multitudes of people and the transformation of nations.

‘People also really appreciated how much the different speakers complemented each other.’

The speakers included several members of the international team of Pastor Cesar Castellanos.

These were: Pastor Lawrence Khong (G12 Asia Co-ordinator) and his wife Pastor Nina Khong, Pastor Rich Witmer (G12 North America Co-ordinator) and his wife Pastor Melissa Witmer, and Pastor Wes Richards (G12 Europe Co-ordinator).

Pastor John Jenkins, senior pastor of ‘First Baptist Church of Glenarden’ a 20,000 strong church, near Washington, DC was also a popular keynote speaker.

One of the key goals of the conference was to encourage leaders from the different countries and link them together to multiply the G12 Vision in every nation of Africa.

Core to this strategy is an emphasis on developing ‘model churches’ such as 3C in Pretoria which has grown to 12,000 in ten years by following the G12 ‘Ladder of Success.’

Today the church has over 1,000 cell groups and daily feeds 10,000 people, mainly in schools and squatter camps.

Pastor Bert, 41, however, has his eyes firmly focused on the future. ‘We are just at the foundation stage for our church and the G12 Vision in Africa. We are now ready to build.’
