Celebration in Argentina

omarar

Something outstanding, historic and unprecedented happened in Córdoba, 9-11 September: G12 Argentina celebrated its 5th Annual Conference in both the Ferial Complex and the Orfeo Superdome simultaneously. Vision of the Future Church came together in the first venue, and all the other churches that are implementing the vision from the International Charismatic Mission gathered in the other.

It was necessary to do this because the facilities were not sufficient to accommodate everyone, that is to say, nothing like this has ever happened in Argentina before. Vision of the Future Church gathered 6658 of its members and there were 5584 from the other Churches, namely: "Jesus is here," "People committed to Jesus," "The house of blessing," "International Christian Church," "International Charismatic Mission," "Living Hope," "Extending the kingdom," "A Better Life," "Christ is the answer," and "Henderson Evangelical Church."

The speakers were practically the same in both venues: Pastors Cesar and Claudia Castellanos, Juan Carlos and Betty Rojas, Raimoth and Ilma Garzon, Fernando Ramos, the band Soulfire Revolution, Reverend Omar Jr., and Alejandra Cabrera, current G12 Coordinators for our country, along with some Argentinian pastors and Rómulo Talero from Bolivia. Manuela and Sara Castellanos headed up the dance, along with other national teams.

The message "REACH your generations" brought a revelation of being used in this time, and awoke the potential given by God to conquer our Nation. We held a Kids Conference under the same name for 5-12 year olds. These children with conquerors' hearts received the same Word, hungry for the blessing. With an attendance of 1039 kids, surely they will march as an army of warriors and will play a predominant role in society.

The number of attendees at both conferences, including adults and children was 12 242 people.

Highlights included artistic dance combined with video in the Ferial, and the welcome and words of Pastors Emanuel and Silvia Ramos who complete the national team of 12. We must point out the humility, love and unity with which the G12 pastors have conducted themselves especially in the face of changes. All were able to understand that they were there to serve and not to be seen, which shows that this is a really special team.

Those who focussed themselves on their purpose and who spiritually-speaking, took the burning "torch," will bring light to our generation and will pass it on to the next. Pastor Cesar Castellanos taught: "You and I are challenged to take the torch and to not let the sacred flame of the love of Jesus Christ go out." As a Church we have arisen as spiritual government over our nation to pray that Argentina returns to the rhythm set by God.

And there's more...!
The large united celebration in Córdoba's Olympic Stadium on Saturday evening gathered together more than 13 thousand people. The outstanding band Kyosko played and the Argentinian folklore group XTO launched their latest disc "Tengo más" ("I have more"). Then bands Valor Interior (Inner Value), the worship team from Pastor Gliget's church, and that of MCI Argentina played. There was so much joy in the meetings, people were jumping, hands were raised, people were waving flags, they sang the different tunes in unison, and spontaneous songs broke out: "I am a Christian.... this is a feeling that I can't stop feeling"

The Soulfire Revolution concert prior to Pastor Cesar Castellanos' message  prepared hearts so that the hand of the Lord rested on each one, redeemed and healed. Once again the choruses could be heard coming from the stalls: " Come to see him, come to see him, it's not River or Boca, it's Jesus Christ of Nazareth." The night culminated in Pastor Fernando Ramos' Stand Up Comedy "Jerry, from conqueror to conquered," and he led those who desired to, to receive Jesus as their Saviour.

'Reach' is a memorable Conference because of the number of entrants (which has not stopped growing since 2006 when the first conference was held in Buenos Aires). It is incredible because of the impact on the attendees, who will rise up as one people that will reach their generations through the media, politics, education, music, arts and science, and will transform the world of today and the future.

The fire of God is burning in Argentina....! The fire of God lit hearts so that they may be a light to their descendants as they reach their generations.

Musical Guest From Puerto Rico: Funky

funkylive

Luis Marrero, better known as “Funky," is today identified as one of the main exponents of Christian reggaeton, with four albums and multiple projects in production. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico in January 23, 1974. In the year 1998 he had a personal encounter with Jesus, which brought personal and family restoration to his life. After his experience with Jesus came his first job as a singer and producer  "Funky town" which was a success in the music world. The media in his home country, Puerto Rico, and the international media welcomed him a huge way, making him one of the favorites among the youth. In less than one year in the Christian music scene, Funky received the nomination for Latin Grammy in 2003.

The album “Especie en Peligro” (Endangered species) was produced in 2002, which consolidated the position of Funky as a musical influence  among the Christian youth. With this  album Funky was awarded different nominations and prizes: prize ARPA( Mexico, 2003 and 2004),  Conquer prize LA (California 2004), Integrity (integridad.com) prize  (2004) and the People prize (California, 2004), as well as many others.

The year 2005 saw the launch of his first live production:«Live! En vivo desde Costa Rica» ("Live! from Costa Rica"),  that reaffirmed his role as a leader of Chrisian reggaeton on an international level.  In 2006 he gave his first tour around Europe for 17 days, held more than 25 concerts in Mexico, visited Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Panama and the USA, among many other places.

In 2007 and after more than two years of waiting for a studio album, Funky launched “Corriendo para ganar” (Running to Win) which he produced with the participation of figures such as Domingo Quiñones, Alex Campos and Tony Vega. The first track on the album, "Me estás matando" (You're killing me), placed him in various  TV music channels such as Univision, MTV espanol, MTV latinoamerica, VH 1, HTV and numerous others, being the pioneer in the Spanish Christian world and the only one of his kind getting such exposure.

Funky currently resides in Orlando, Florida, with his wife and kids, from where he directs the offices of Funkytown music Inc. and produces his own albums and those of several other reggaeton singers.

And so, as one of the best examples of Christian music in Latin America, he will be in our next youth conference We Are One 2010, in the city of Bogota (Colombia) from 15th to 18th September. Funky is an artist that, through his lyrics, is inviting young people to live with purpose for God.

The Lord clothes me with power

proclamacion ag ingles

The declaration for the month of August is: By your grace we are saved, set free, and clothed in power. Isaiah 51:9-10.

This month's declaration has to do with the infinite grace of God which is for each one of his children. The prophet Isaiah recalls the powerful works of God and emphasises what the Lord did with the life of a prostitute named Rahab. We cannot say that she was a good prostitute ; just like we cannot say that one of the two thieves who hung either side of Jesus on the cross was good and the other bad. Both were equally guilty. Both had been judged and found guilty and sentenced to death. One insulted Jesus, but the other begged for mercy. That is why he found grace in Jesus' sight and the Lord promised him that that very day he would be with him in paradise (Luke 23:39-43). Rahab was aware that God had handed over all of that land to the people of Israel, and she recognised that the God of the Jews is God in both the heavens and the earth. She asked for mercy for herself and for her family (Joshua 2:11-14).

We can declare: 'By his grace I am saved, free and clothed with power'.
